As the US becomes increasingly polarized, both Republicans and Democrats have accused each other of trying to turn the country into an authoritarian dictatorship. Democrats accuse right wing Republican voters of being in a cult led by Trump that is looking to suppress minorities and women. Conversely, Republicans accuse the Democrats of trying to control people through Critical Race Theory, pushing the LGBT agenda and suppressing free speech.
