Obama mocks Trump for fake “tough guy” persona

Barack Obama hit the campaign trail on behalf of his former VP yesterday and lambasted President Trump for walking out of an interview with 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl. Trump’s predecessor gave a scathing assessment of his performance as President, torching him over his response to Coronavirus and for his “thin-skinned” walkout on Stahl, saying “He likes to act tough and talk tough. He thinks scowling and being mean is tough, but when ’60 Minutes’ and Lesley Stahl are too tough for you, you ain’t all that tough.” Obama later joked that if Trump wasn’t resolute enough to face down 60 Minutes “he is never going to stand up to a dictator.”
Obama also hit out at Trump’s behavior which he compared unfavorably to the internet meme Florida Man, “You wouldn’t tolerate it from a coworker. You wouldn’t tolerate it from a high school principal. You wouldn’t tolerate it from a coach. You wouldn’t tolerate it from a family member,’Florida man’ wouldn’t even do this stuff. Why are we accepting it from the President of the United States?”
President Trump and Obama have never had a warm relationship but until recently the former President had largely stayed above the fray, however, with Election Day looming he has become increasingly vocal in his opposition to Trump and there will certainly be no love lost between the two old foes in the final days of the campaign.
