WATCH: Joe Biden’s Acceptance Speech – “I will be a President for all Americans”

Pollemix News – January 20, 2021
Newly sworn in President Joe Biden made an acceptance speech imploring Americans to overcome partisanship with an ‘appeal to our better angels’. Although calling for unity, Biden failed to mention his predecessor Donald Trump despite acknowledging the presence of former President’s Obama, George W Bush and Bill Clinton, who were all in attendance, and Jimmy Carter who declined to attend due to his advanced age putting him at high risk for Coronavirus fatality.

Biden touched on several themes in his speech, calling for racial unity and an end to partisan division within the country, along with a shout out to addressing climate change. Despite never mentioning his predecessor President Biden did make several references that could be perceived as veiled barbs at Trump, including his calls for a return to truth and reconciliation and away from the politics of hate and division that he frequently accused former President Trump of engaging in.
