Columbus Day has had a long tradition in America, however, many on the left are demanding that it be changed to Indigenous Peoples Day. Traditionalists say that Columbus Day commemorates an important milestone in America's history and is a celebration of the first notable European exploration into the West. Those opposed claim that the holiday diminishes the suffering of indigenous Americans who were nearly wiped out by European conquest and cite Columbus own atrocities when he arrived in the New World.
Do you believe Columbus Day should be changed to Indigenous Peoples Day?
