Trump claims supporters were “protecting” Biden campaign bus as FBI launches probe

President Trump told a campaign rally crowd that the Trump supporters who surrounded Joe Biden’s campaign bus in Texas were in fact trying to protect the bus, saying “did you see the way our people they … you know they were protecting his bus yesterday, because they’re nice”.
The altercation occurred yesterday when a “Trump Train” convoy of SUV’s encountered the Biden campaign bus and surrounded the vehicle which was carrying Biden staffers and congressional candidate Wendy Davis to a campaign event that was subsequently cancelled following the incident. Biden’s Texas Communications Director who was on board at the time said that the bus was forced to slow down and move out of its lane after being cut off by the Trump convoy, some of whom were screaming profanities at those on board. The FBI announced today that they would be looking into the incident and Joe Biden addressed the fracas with reporters saying, “We’ve never had anything like this. At least we’ve never had a president who thinks it’s a good thing.”
