While Democrats are pushing for increased gun control, Republicans are insisting that a better approach to preventing school shootings is to arm teachers. With a spate of recent mass shootings, those on the left claim that guns are the problem and increased measures including the restriction of sales of high capacity weapons need to be restricted. Conversely, Republicans are adamant that any increased gun control measures are contrary to the rights enshrined in the 2nd Amendment and that the only way to prevent mass shootings is to strengthen schools by having armed security personnel and teachers in every school in America.
