Until recently there was renewed hope that the Covid pandemic was over, however, in recent weeks a rise in cases has shown this may have been a false dawn. Democrats are blaming former President Donald Trump and conservative media for the rise saying they have fueled anti-vax sentiments among their voters. Republicans meanwhile say that it is President Biden and Anthony Fauci's fault for providing mixed messages and an ineffectual response.
