Pollemix Commenting Policy
The purpose of Pollemix is to foster community discussion on the issues affecting the body politic and we strongly encourage civilised debate amongst our users. Commenting is a vital element in the Pollemix user experience and we look forward to an open exchange of opinions amongst our interactive community, however, we ask that users engage in civilized discourse rather than descending into personal abuse, trolling, doxing, libel, defamation or other violations of Law or moral conduct.
Please follow our community guidelines for commenting:
- Do not resort to personal abuse. You may disagree with the content of an article, with the reporter or with other readers’ comments, but do not attack anyone personally. Do not libel or defame anyone or violate their privacy.
- We welcome your comments as long as you are 18 and older regardless of your identity, politics, ideology or religious affiliation.
- Do not use foul language or profanity or attempt to disguise this profanity with asterisks, symbols or misspellings as we reserve the right to remove these comments.
- Comments that are not related to the poll or story will be deleted as will any attempts at advertising or marketing of Third-Party websites.
- Do not make defamatory statements including racism, sexism, homophobia or any other discriminatory remarks.
- Do not threaten, “doxx” or abuse any other patrons of the Pollemix website. Severe violations of this will not only be deleted, potentially criminal threats may be reported.
- Comments used for “spam” or advertising will be deleted and the user will be blocked.
- Do not report comments simply because you do not agree with them, Pollemix is a forum for healthy intellectual debate and disagreement is an essential part of this process. If having your viewpoints questioned is too difficult for you there are plenty of “echo chambers” on the internet where your opinions will go unchallenged.
- Pollemix reserves the complete discretion and right to delete any comments or posts that we believe violate our commenting policy and do not have any obligation to disclose our reasons for deletion.
- Users who commit three serious violations of these guidelines will be blocked from submitting future comments as well, without warning. We reserve the right to block a commenter after a single violation if it is particularly offensive, or if the commenter is clearly a “bot” or using a false identity.
