Biden slams Trump on Covid: “He continues to lie to us”

Donald Trump’s election opponent Joe Biden went after the President for suggesting that the US had turned the corner on Coronavirus, accusing Trump of lying about the extent of the Covid-19 situation.
Biden’s salvo came as a response to President Trump’s comments at his campaign rally on Saturday where he said, “We are rounding the corner. The vaccines are unbelievable. Except for a little politics. We have unbelievable vaccines coming out real soon. And the therapeutics are unbelievable.” Appearing in North Carolina Biden countered Trump’s claims, blasting back “Turn the corner? Things are getting worse. He continues to lie to us about the circumstances.”
There has been a recent surge in Coronavirus cases of late as states open back up and Trump himself only recently recovered from a bout of the virus, however, the President has been bullish about reopening the country and has made it a central plank of his re-election platform, in stark contrast to his challenger who has repeatedly lambasted the President as being more concerned with the political ramifications of the shutdown rather than the human toll.
