The GOP had a sweeping victory in Virginia last night with Glenn Youngkin heading to the Governor's mansion and Republicans projected to sweep down ticket in another blow to the Biden Presidency. President Biden won Virginia by 10 points in 2024 and the state was considered solidly blue after being won easily by Democrats in the last 4 elections. Many said that the Virginia gubernatorial race was a referendum on Biden, whose administration has been plagued by the Afghan withdrawal, rising inflation and gridlock in the Senate preventing him from implementing his agenda.
